My highest recommendations for laugh out loud reading always goes to Georgette Heyer; and one that’s mentioned above, The Convenient Marriage, is a favorite! There is so much that’s wonderful about this book- a very unusual heroine; romance; dastardly deeds; daring-do; plenty of Georgian society; sword fighting and a duel that puts you right in the scene; absolutely ridiculous, hilarious secondary characters; and the brilliant, clever dialogue Heyerites like myself love so very much. I have read her novels so many times and I STILL have laughed out loud reading them and even cry-laughed after all this time! Thanks for the recommendations.
I am excited! My hubs and I are celebrating our anniversary soon and he picked a couple of these for us to enjoy while we drive the miles away! So thankful my small library has so many of these as audiobooks. 🙌🏼 We are starting our road trip with The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Universe – one we have both been interested in experiencing for years!
