FREE to READ: 4 Great Sites for Absolutely Free eReads

What better way to celebrate World Book Day than with FREE eBOOKS?

Am I right?

Following are 4 great sites that offer absolutely free eBooks that you are Free to Read, my friend.

Let's get to it, shall we?

1. Amazon

Amazon is offering a whopping 10 FREE Kindle downloads in celebration of World Book Day! There is even one for the kiddos! I'm still giggling from the the fact that I just scored so many FREEBIES.

2. Project Gutenberg

A whole library at your fingertips, waiting to be dowloaded. And all for FREE thanks to Project Gutenberg, whose very mission is "to encourage the creation and distribution of eBooks." I just added The Dazzling Miss Davison by Florence Warden to my ever-expanding electronic TBR pile.

3. Google Play Books

Super simple. Download the Google Play Books App. Search for free titles. There are dozens of FREE eBooks and audiobooks available. Plus, when you sign up, Google Play Books asks a few questions to customize your experience to make the selection process simpler. I just snagged Arena 1 (a post-apocalyptic audiobook) by Morgan Rice for an upcoming weekend trip with my man. (Happy dance!)

4. Standard eBooks

A volunteer-driven initiative, Standard eBooks offers a curated collection of public domain books that rival paid publications. My first pick? The Life of Buffalo Bill by William F. Cody, downloaded in seconds to my Overdrive account. (After Larry McMurtry's Lonesome Dove last month, I am feelin' the Western vibe.)

Happy World Book Day, Reader!

Which books are going to be your firsts?

Personally, I think World Book Day should be a holiday. A world-wide holiday. Celebrated with paid holiday leave and a well-chosen book. Snacks optional.

Until that time, I'll settle for free eBooks. And the nights and weekends Free to Read them.
